Beginning in March 2018, Columbus Bikeshare implemented Transport Layer Security protocols (TLS 1.2) in accordance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS v3.2). As a result users with some out-of-date web browsers may not be able to load interactive parts of the website, including:
- System map
- Join, purchase & registration page
- Login page
When trying to view these pages with an out-of-date browser, you may see error messages saying, "cannot connect to server" or "this site cannot be reached."
It’s very easy to update your web browser. There are a number of third party websites that can guide you through the process, like https://browser-update.org/update.html.
It’s also very easy to check to see whether the browser you’re using has up-to-date security protocols. To check, visit https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/viewMyClient.html and look for the green box with the message, “Your user agent has good protocol support.”
If your browser is up-to-date, and you confirm that it supports TLS 1.2, and you STILL can’t get to the website map, login, and registration pages, please contact CoGo customer service, now supported by Lyft.
